Description:
Views of the Enns, which presents itself in refreshingly new perspectives. The selective route also delights athletic walkers and trail runners.

On hot days, the hike through shady forest sections is a welcome refreshment.

We recommend Dürnbach railway station as the starting point; Ternberg railway station is also an option.

Depending on your condition and fitness, the walking time is between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.

Directions:
From Dürnbach station, we turn north and walk downhill on Dürnbachstraße through the village. After about 5 minutes we come to an atmospheric chapel. Here we cross the road and immediately afterwards the Dürnbach, which dries up in times of drought.

Along the edge of the bushes there are traces of the beaver, which is returning to our river landscapes. Soon the path dips into the forest. Here we can enjoy an impressive view of the Enns in the nature cinema. We continue to the edge of the terrace on the Enns, then behind it to the bank and the Fallergut towers above on the right.Water birds, the natural monument Fallerbucht, species-rich deciduous forests, meagre meadows, conglomerate blocks and a varied soundscape make this tour a unique nature experience.

Most of the way is on narrow paths over hill and dale. A small gravel bench at the mouth of the Bäckengraben invites you to rest and play. The trail continues into the Bäckengraben for a short distance before turning right up to the bridge and continuing to the railway station Ternberg.

Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Ternberg and Dürnbach: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
