Not all cider is the same. Andreas Rammer, a trained cider sommelier and, together with his wife Maria, host of Hamenter's Mostschänke on the Pfenningberg on the outskirts of Linz, knows this. Around 130 apple and pear trees, mostly old varieties such as Bohnapfel, Speckbirne, Bichlbirne and Landlbirne, grow unsprayed in the meadow orchard and are processed into single-variety must and apple-pear must.
