There are 26 cellars along a hollow path on the north-western outskirts of Raab. The origin goes back to medieval earth stables. This cellar lane is a special and unique feature of Upper Austria and has been placed under a preservation order. This cellar lane, popularly known as "Kellergröppe", can be traced back to 1620. The sand cellars belonged to the breweries and were used to store beer at a constant temperature of eight degrees. The Innviertel dialect poet Franz Stelzhamer also often enjoyed the beer in these cellars: "Raaba Bier, Raaba Bier, bist wia graba Stier, haust um di, schlagst um di, sakra di!" The Beer Sand Cellar Museum was set up in one of the cellars, which vividly illustrates medieval storage. In 2015, the Raaber Kellergröppe museum was further expanded to include an ice cellar, which vividly illustrates how the ice harvested in winter was preserved for months. The ice cellar was artistically designed by the Pramer artist Meinrad Mayrhofer, who is widely known for his wooden sculptures. In 2020, Kellergröppe Raab, with its unique flair and centuries-old sand cellars, featured in the Austria-wide final of the well-known ORF television programme "9 Plätze - 9 Schätze".
