Built for sheer loveliness of the combination of water, woods, and picturesque buildings of the later and more decorative age of military architecture, the castle is based on wooden-pile foundations and completely surrounded by water. Aistersheim Castle is a good example of a Medieval defensive structure, however, what´s more it is a superb moated example of late Renaissance style architecture. The lovely building is definitely worth visiting!
