Braunau am Inn, Oberösterreich, Österreich

Today's cultural centre of the town of Braunau was originally founded as the Gugg fire extinguishing factory in 1781. The building that now houses Braunau’s main cultural centre was originally built as a factory for fire extinguishers in 1881. Its external facade was declared “worth conserving” by the Federal Office of Monuments.
In 1989 a theatrical group first rented the building. With the help of the town of Braunau and the government of Upper Austria, the building was converted into a small theatre and a café.
After its renovation and expansion the GUGG was reopened as cultural hotspot in the heart of Braunau in September 2005.
Experience lots of special events, cabarets and performances here and enjoy the fascinating atmosphere as well as the culinary delights at the GUGG restaurant and bar!
