You can visit the towers and gates on a tour around the town: **Linzertor:** The foundation walls date back to the 13th century. **Bürgerkorpsturm:** This tower dates from around 1390 and stands at the south-west corner of the town. **Salzhof:** This is the old castle of Freistadt and used to be the castle of the town lords (Babenberg and Habsburgs). **Scheibling Tower:** This tower dates from 1444-1447. **Böhmertor:** This gate has a Gothic pointed arch gate with two slits for the swing beams of the drawbridge. **Weyermühlturm:** dates from around 1390 and is a semi-circular tower.
