Follow the trail of the coal called "black gold" and become part of an experience that will not let you forget history. At the Scheiben coal station in Geboltskirchen, you can "experience" life around the former mining industry up close: Pedal along the rails of the former coal railroad on a bicycle trolley or ride in pit buggies - pulled by a diesel locomotive - over the 3.5 km long circuit through a small show gallery through the Hausruckwald. Coal mining was essential for the Hausruckviertel until 1964; immerse yourself today comfortably and with fun in the arduous life of the miners of Scheiben anno dazumal! A look back In a model replica with picture boards, picture projections and a show kitchen in the small museum in the station building you experience how laborious it was to do hard physical work underground: at only low temperatures, no daylight and generally little light and always exposed to a lot of dust and dirt. Old-serving miners sometimes talk about past experiences and give exciting mine adventures, which stimulate the imagination of the visitors.
