The church is situated on the steep slope to the Stone Mill. The patron saint of the church is St. Nicholas - also the patron saint of merchants and weavers. It was built in two stages: a simple chancel around 1350-1450; a wide, single-nave nave with interesting ribbed vaults around 1450-1500. Late Gothic portals, a former Baroque high altarpiece from 1696, other furnishings are Neo-Gothic. The free-standing church tower, an old fortress tower with its massive walls (wall thickness up to two metres) had a closed battlements until 1906, today it has an open gallery. In former times, the tower was called Bürgerschaftsturm, it did not belong to the church. On a walk around Haslach, you can see parts of the ring wall and the round towers.
