The emerald-green lake extends over 7 kilometers and offers a very special area with approximately 100 hectares of water surface. Nestled in the steep, fairy-tale conglomerate walls of the upper Steyr Valley, it produces, thanks to the excellent water quality of the main inflows Steyr and Teichl, salmonids of sometimes extraordinary size, as they find ideal living conditions here. You can indulge in various forms of fishing: from a boat or the shore, using streamers, wobblers, nymphs, or dry flies. In addition to fishing for lake, brook, rainbow trout, and grayling, fishing for pike and perch (for both there is a catch obligation to protect the salmonid populations) or waiting for carp can also be worthwhile.
