It offers beautiful flowers, beautiful paths, beautiful views of the Stoder Valley and the Garstner Valley. There is also a small summit as a stage destination. Start in the village centre and walk along the main road towards Windischgarsten. After the Steinergut, turn left into the Ramseben estate road and shortly afterwards right into the Herzogsiedlung. Keep to the "RieserALMrunde" signs. Cross the forest and meadow, past the Rieser estate. Continue uphill through the forest and take the turnoff to the right to Spitzmäuerl (1,100 m). The last few metres up the Spitzmäuerl are wire-rope secured. Those who climb it are rewarded with a rest bench, a great panorama and a small summit cross. Below the summit of the Spitzmäuerl, the trail continues gently uphill to the alpine plateau Rieseralm. The descent leads down a somewhat steeper path only a few metres away and joins the same path as the ascent at the junction to Spitzmäuerl. **Tip**: Make a detour to the Filzmoseralm (approx. 15 minutes). From there you look out over the other side of the mountain towards the Sengsengebirge. The alp is not managed, but has a rest area with a fountain and, with a bit of luck, drinks for thirsty hikers.
