Motorradtour "REDBULL - STRUBKLAMM - HANGAR 7"

REDBULL - STRUBKLAMM - HANGAR7
There's a cosy "swing-in" from the KTM Motohall as we speed via Munderfing on low-traffic roads towards Mattsee. Gebertsham offers the first opportunity to make a short stop: The car park next to the church offers a beautiful view over Lake Mattsee and Lake Obertrum behind it. However, we don't enjoy this view for too long, preferring instead to get back on our bikes and speed off towards the next lake. The route leads us along the northern and eastern shores of Lake Wallersee to Henndorf. Here we take the small connecting road to Thalgau and enjoy the winding road. After Thalgau, it's even more fun: the L227 winds its way upwards in three generous and fast bends and takes us along the Fuschler Straße to the lake of the same name, which we have a beautiful view of from the Schöffbaumhöhe.
Just north of the Wiestal reservoir, we reach the main road and follow it along the reservoir to Hallein, where the proximity of Salzburg is already apparent in terms of traffic: we cross Hallein and the outskirts of the city of Mozart almost at walking pace and in convoy. Passing the fantastic Hellbrunn Palace Park, we plunge into the flow of city traffic and "swim" with it towards the airport. There, the famous "Hangar 7" is our destination! The architecturally impressive building with its glass and steel combination is already an eye-catcher from the outside - and even more so on the inside! Not only the light-flooded hall, but above all the numerous exhibits will amaze visitors. A wide variety of RedBull vehicles are on display, from "simple" KTM rally bikes and Formula I racing cars to highly technical aeroplanes.
Hangar 7 not only serves as an exhibition space, but with its "Ikarus" restaurant, two other bars, an outdoor lounge and a café, it is also an extremely popular venue and meeting place. Among other things, various Servus TV programmes are produced or broadcast live here.
As we continue our journey, we definitely wish we were travelling in one of the aircraft on display; the city traffic through Salzburg is not exactly what a motorcyclist wants. However, the impressions in Hangar 7 make us gladly put up with this, as it's not that long before we reach the city limits and can get back into smooth combinations of bends. The L101 takes us through Obertrum and past the lake of the same name to Mattsee and its namesake village. Here we make our next stop and pop into the Ferdinand-Porsche fahr(T)raum. In the "adventure worlds" there, visitors can get their fill of vintage cars, racing cars, tractors and historic aeroplanes. There are also opportunities to get involved and have fun: a Carrera race track and racing simulators are available. Classic car rides can also be booked and children can take part in the "Children's Workshop", where they can learn about the world of technology at play stations, workbenches and other child-friendly activities.
Although the term "cat's jump" is certainly not part of it! However, we use it now, because in no time at all we are travelling from Mattsee along the L505 towards Mattighofen. There we arrive directly at the KTM Motohall and enjoy a cosy coffee in the "Garage" to round off the beautiful motorbike day!
