As the days grow longer and the meadows offer the first fresh grass of the year, our pets and farm animals also look forward to the first warm rays of spring sunshine. A walk from the Lorenzer Keuschen up to the Irrsberg shows how our traditional dairy farming is increasingly being replaced by diversified agriculture.
Our tip for an unconventional walk starts in the Eich, either at the Aichingerwirt - known for its Scottish Highland cattle and Duroc pigs that live in the pasture next door, or at the Eichingerbauer - where several impressive red deer populate a natural area. Up in Grünwinkel, the motorway dominates a bit, but Dieter doesn't mind. Dieter is the boss of the yak herd at Edingerhof and can be found there all year round, just like the neighbouring alpacas. As we look down into the valley, our gaze wanders over the horses, donkeys and flocks of sheep at the Bachbauern and the farm shop at the Teufelmühle to the Schwaighofer trout farm. But we continue under the motorway, along the nature-protected Langmoos towards Gasthof Ölgraben, where behind it the Wagyu cattle from Brandstätter enjoy the fresh green. Our destination, however, is the Hummelwiese at the top of the Irrsberg. Thomas Wizany has created a unique nature experience here for young and old. A walk or hike is worthwhile in any case - perhaps together with the alpacas from Edingerhof?Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
