Slightly longer tour to the Schneeberg and the Tanscharten. Length 21.7 km and 955 metres in altitude.Directions:
We start at the railway station in Reichraming and walk into the town, past the school and along Dirnbachstraße to Arena Schallau. We then turn right and walk up the Sulzbachstraße via Reichramingbach for approx. 800 metres. Then we turn left onto the forest road. Now it's a good 6 km up the gravelled road. Not steep, but long, until we come to a clearing at the Ortbauernhütte. The route continues just behind it. Halfway to the summit, we pass the Kautschhütte. Across meadows and pastures and small sections of forest, we now head up to the summit of the Schneeberg, where we also reach today's highest point at 1244 metres. A small summit cross marks the highest point. A huge treeless alpine meadow, the so-called Kalblsaualm, stretches out in front of us and opens up the way to the Tannscharten. We walk straight down the meadow on the right and shortly afterwards reach the Tannscharten, hidden in a wooded area. The so-called Tanscharte, a rocky outcrop with a striking scree slope, is also clearly visible from Reichraming and the surrounding mountains. The descent here is very steep in places. Now we continue downhill through the forest until we soon reach a forest road again, which we immediately leave and turn right. Rather poorly marked, the route leads through a young forest with lots of undergrowth. Once back on the forest road, it is now all downhill. At a fork in the road, we continue straight ahead, following a path that shortens the road and takes us through the woods down to Reichraming. We pass a huge new forest hut between Gschliffner Graben and Gfallnau at the Furtner Kreuz. Reichraming is reached again shortly afterwards. After passing the church and crossing the bridge back to the railway station, we reach our starting point after more than 20 km and almost 1000 metres of ascent. Tip:
Various refreshment stops (after the tour) in Reichraming.Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.
We have a general checklist for you here:
weather-appropriate running gear for the season - weather forecast - region - elevation. This includes: * a waterproof rain jacket * a waterproof rain trousers suitable for running * Gloves and warm headgear (hood/headband/towel). * sunglasses + sunscreen + headgear for very warm days
Trail running shoes
Drinking bottles, softflasks or a hydration bladder with enough liquid for the respective tour (if necessary also salt tablets/magnesium)
