Church

Waldhausen im Strudengau, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • Suitable for groups

The Parish church in Waldhausen is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
Located in the center of Waldhausen.
It is the most important building from the aftergothic. Particularly noteworthy is the Renaissance portal on the south side.
The parish church, which stands like a fortress of God protectively over the market Waldhausen, was significantly altered under Part provost Hermann Reuther from Linz builder Job Eder in the nave (1610-1612).

The west door studded with iron, which is pierced by the halberd blows the Hussites and the ball strikes the French shows that the church was repeatedly exposed to enemy attacks. Inside, a bright 3-schiffiger room opens up to you, which is lit by large Gothic windows. The towering slender octagonal pillars supporting the ceiling, the art is fully equipped with granite ridges.
