Main Square

Linz, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The main square (Hauptplatz), with an area of roughly 13.2002m² has been one of the largest urban squares in Europe since the 13th century.

Hauptplatz Linz is enclosed by buildings with an important historical background and whose striking facades characterise the square's appearance. In the middle of the place there is the impressive Trinity Column with a height of 20 metres

It was thanks to the main square in its function as a market place that the city soon experienced an economic boom. Today many partys and festivals take place on Hauptplatz.
