The culinary heart of Das Traunsee – Das Hotel zum See of the Gröller family in Traunkirchen: the Restaurant Bootshaus.
A fine dining venue built directly on a traditional boathouse – designed with authentic materials, interpreted in a contemporary way, and complemented by modern art on the walls. A dreamlike lakeside terrace offers breathtaking views of the shimmering water and surrounding mountains of the Salzkammergut.

The cuisine of Head Chef Lukas Nagl focuses on the essence of the region while keeping an open mind to the world. Familiar flavors are rediscovered, while the unknown is interpreted through local ingredients in surprising new ways.
There is no fixed menu: instead, the team presents a regularly changing selection of ingredients, from which a unique menu is created – spontaneous, creative, and full of character.

The Restaurant Bootshaus is highly acclaimed: one Michelin Star and one Green Star, four toques from Gault&Millau, and top ratings in À la Carte and the Falstaff Gourmet Guide make it the highest-rated restaurant in Upper Austria.
Katharina Gnigler was named Gault&Millau Sommelier of the Year 2025, while Lukas Nagl holds the title of Chef of the Year 2023.

This restaurant is built directly on a boathouse, with materials true to their original style, but also with modern elements and contemporary art on display. Award winning Chef de cuisine Lukas Nagl treats the guests to excellent food with a special and pure taste. The chef and his ambitious team tempt visitors with a menu that is true to the maxim “a change of values”. Fish, vegetables and meat are all equally important as part of the menu.

Thursday – Monday from 6:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday also at lunch from 12:00 PM

From November 2025:
Thursday to Sunday evenings only

Christmas period (23 December 2025 – 5 January 2026):
Evenings open, except on 24 December, 31 December and 1 January
Lunch service on 26 and 28 December

Closed for annual break:
