Gasthof Kirchenwirt

Ohlsdorf (Ollesdorf) was first mentioned in a document from Mondsee Monastery in 780 AD. A wooden church was built around 1100 AD. It can be assumed that there was already a tavern next to the church at this time.
The master builder ‘Hans von Aichelham’ erected the church in its present form in 1492-1501. On 2 November 1753, the ‘Ohlsdorfer Wirt’ was reported to the emperor for allowing girls and prostitutes to dance with boys ‘freely and without shyness’. The so-called ‘Hager-Stube’ was bought by the Berger family in 1920 and the name was changed to ‘Berger`s Gasthaus’. In 1938, Berger married Maria- Josef Kothmayer, in 1967 their daughter Maria- Josef Fürtbauer married, whereupon the inn was renamed from ‘Berger`s Gasthaus’ to ‘Kirchenwirt’, since 1995 Michael Fürtbauer has run the inn.
Since 2025, the Bauer family are the landlords.
