The bar and lounge Castello of the Schlosshotel with its exclusive wine list, the best cocktails in the region and delicacies for the small appetite in between is the "cherry on top" after a relaxing day at the Mondsee.
The bar has been experiencing a revival since 2019 and is celebrating the good life in Mondsee again. As early as the 1950s, a cocktail bar for the American occupation soldiers housed in the castle was built in the rooms of today's Schlossbräu. Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer once refreshed themselves in the Castello Bar after filming "Sound of Music".
Greta Garbo, Ives St Laurent, but Herbert von Karajan, Niki Lauda and Jochen Rindt also regularly stopped by for one or more glasses. The contemplative rural Mondsee - since the fifties it has been a meeting place for sophisticated high society.
