St. Radegund, Oberösterreich, Österreich
In the quiet rural community of St. Radegund, surrounded by the Salzachbogen and Weilhartsforst, visitors will find numerous recreational opportunities. The rural seclusion in combination with a well-run and friendly gastronomy is what makes the village so special.
St. Radegund is located directly on the Tauern cycle path, the "Via Nova" trail and the Ruperti long-distance hiking trail 10a. There are four signposted hiking trails in the municipality itself. There are also horse riding facilities, asphalt curling tracks, tennis courts and football pitches.
Johann Baptist Wengler, one of the most respected Austrian Biedermeier painters, was born in St. Radegund at the Steinhofbauern.
The parish gained particular fame through Franz Jägerstätter, whose refusal to do military service in the Second World War cost him his life and who was beatified in 2007. Since then, numerous believers have visited the memorials in St. Radegund.
Artists and those who want to become artists use the rooms of the "Farbwerk St. Radegund" as an art workshop and for exhibitions.
