The Steindlbach gymnastics war memorial was built in 1919/1920 by the Peuerbach gymnastics club to commemorate the fallen members of the gymnastics club, the Liedertafel and the Peuerbach fire brigade. The chairman of the Peuerbach gymnastics club at the time was the master builder Hans Doblmaier, who was responsible for erecting the memorial.
The area - 54 square metres - was made available by the Dr. Sassi family. The memorial stone was ceremonially unveiled on 31 August 1920 to mark the tenth anniversary of the association's founding.
