Die Enknach

Neukirchen an der Enknach, Oberösterreich, Österreich
The Enknach, which distinguishes the village of Neukirchen from four other villages of the same name in Upper Austria, is a stream around 30 kilometres long. It rises in the south of the Braunau district and flows into the Inn.
Originally, the stream was used to power nine mills in the municipality of Neukirchen. The baker's mill in Dietzing is still largely preserved in its original state and is now used to generate electricity.
The renovated mill wheel of the Lauthmühle (today Untere Hofmark 20 - Zagler bakery) has been preserved. Instead of this wheel, a water screw was installed to generate electricity for the bakery.
