The Winkl lakeside beach in Obertraun is one of the most beautiful natural swimming areas around Lake Hallstatt. This bathing place offers also an area for nudity lovers, as well as an area for dogs and their owners.

Freedom for dog, body and soul

At the beginning of Obertraun in the district Winkl, in the middle of almost untouched nature, is the lakeside beach resort Winkl at the Lake Hallstatt. The water is rather cool but crystal clear, refreshing and very inviting.

Natural barriers and embankments divide the lakeside beach into three bathing zones, all of which are freely accessible.

On the one hand, there is a dog bathing area, with its own dog toilet, so that our four-legged friends don't miss out.

In the year 1987 after an initiative of some inhabitants together with a few guests a part was separated and converted to the nudist bathing area.

A bathing place that offers a lot of variety

The view in the direction of Hallstatt and Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt offers a beautiful landscape consisting of mountains, lakes and wide forests that can enchant us with their stories.

A10 Tauernautobahn to exit "Eben im Pongau", from there via Annaberg, Gosau and Hallstatt to Obertraun

by bus:
get off at the bus station “Obertraun-Traunbrücke”, from there 800 m walk

by train:
from Linz/Salzburg to Attnang-Puchheim, change to train to Stainach-Irdning
or from Stainach-Irdning Zug direction Attnang-Puchheim
get off at train station "Obertraun-Dachsteinhöhlen", from there 1.4 km walk
