The parish church in Unterweißenbach is dedicated to St Nicholas. The parish church dedicated to St Nicholas is not a uniform Gothic building, but dates from several construction periods.
As with all asymmetrical churches with two naves, this is also a Romanesque structure. The north, east and west walls are still remnants from this first construction period.
The nave dates from the 16th century and has two aisles. The presbytery dates from the 14th century. The vault of the nave is supported by four octagonal pillars. Both naves are spanned by a fine, very regular ribbed vault with quatrefoils. The church doors are framed with Gothic moulded stones. The interior is neo-Gothic throughout.
Two wrought-iron sconces in the choir from 1779 and three rococo grave crosses on the outside of the church are also worthy of note.

The Unterweißenbach parish church is located on the Mühlviertel Gothic Route.
