The Schlossmuseum Linz provides a comprehensive insight into the natural, cultural and art history of Upper Austria from prehistory and early history to the 21st century on over 10,000 m² of exhibition space.
Around the permanent exhibition of the Upper Austrian State Museum, special exhibitions highlight current international and regional topics as well as cultural, natural and contemporary history.
The permanent exhibitions at the castle museum offer a diverse insight and guide visitors through the cultural history of Upper Austria.
In addition, large exhibitions dealing with national and international themes as well as smaller presentations from the museum's collections are held annually. The castle museum is also a highlight for families: exhibitions are specially designed for young visitors. The lift leads directly from the playground in a 70-metre-long tunnel to the museum foyer. This makes the castle museum directly accessible from the city.
