Turm 9 - Stadtmuseum Leonding

Leonding, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • Suitable for groups

The tower no. 9 of Maximilian´s former defenses now accommodates the Leonding City Museum portraying the history of the town and its surroundings.

Having been defeated by Napolean, Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg-Este had a line of defense drawn around the town including 32 defensive artillery towers, four of which have been preserved in the Leonding area.
In neighboring Linz and on Pöstlingberg only a few towers have remained.

Do not miss out on a visit to the fascinating museum in tower no. 9 on 55 Daffingerstrasse street!
Creativity workshops for children are offered every first Saturday a month (commencing at 2pm).
