Local Heritage Museum

Katsdorf, Oberösterreich, Österreich
  • Suitable for groups

The Local Heritage Museum provides visitors with insights into the natural and cultural history of the area. The Museum has seven exhibition rooms:

1) Neolithic Age, Bronze Age, and Middle Ages finds that were discovered on the castle hill in Bodendorf. From 1984 to 1987, large-scale excavations took place there with the results now being displayed at the Local Heritage Museum. The castle was presumably the residence of Herimann von Chazlinsdorff, a name that first appeared in historical documents in 1125. What´s more, the village of Katsdorf has derived its name from Chazlinsdorff.

2) and 3) Karde cultivation and history of the spinning mills association

4) Flax cultivation and production

5) Farming machinery and tools

6) Rural handicraft

7) Relics of World Wars I and II
