Wartberg Local Heritage Museum

A fine collection of tools and memorabilia providing an insight into customs and traditions, ancient farming methods and original handicrafts of time long past.

Among the very special highlights ranks the so-called "TRIEUR" created by a local carpenter. Plenty of information about wine production and flax processing. Large and fully-equipped coach factory featuring a blacksmithy with authentic documents regarding the master craftsman (dating back to Vienna´s Veterinary University of 1844). Wonderful shoemaker´s and saddler´s workshop on display. Well-preserved farmhouse room, kitchen, traditional Stube parlor of time long past.

Exhibitions on 100th anniversary of the Fire Department and the 145th anniversary of the Schützen brass band. Old photographs, maps, pictures and plates telling everything about the history of Wartberg. Historical documents and illustrations: Schachadorfer School between 1676 and 1854. Many exhibits reminding of the past. Pictures of Wartberg´s witches and heretics including their execution in 1658. Plus a full range of further highlights and attractions!
