The Irrsee Heimathaus was built in 1964 by the sculptor and painter Hans Mairhofer-Irrsee
. It stands in the centre of a sculpture garden, known as the artist's garden gallery. The museum is home to an extensive display of rural life, crafts and customs. Smoke kitchens from the early 18th century, a schnapps distillery, a house mill, a baking oven, a galley and countless artefacts are vividly displayed. The sentimental value of this collection lies in the fact that all the artefacts originate from the local region, the MondSeeLand.
