Immerse yourself in the past at the Coal Station Scheiben.

At the Coal Station Scheiben in Geboltskirchen, you will "experience" life around the former mining industry up close: pedal with the bike-draisine on the tracks of the former coal railway or ride in mine carts – pulled by a diesel locomotive – over the 3.5 km long circular route through a small show tunnel in the Hausruckwald.
Coal mining was essential for the Hausruckviertel until 1964; today, you can comfortably and enjoyably dive into the arduous life of the miners of Scheiben back in the day!

Looking Back
Displayed in a model reproduction with picture panels, image projections, and a show kitchen in the small museum in the station building, you will experience how laborious it was to perform heavy physical work underground: exposed to only low temperatures, no daylight, and generally little light, always surrounded by a lot of dust and dirt.
Retired miners occasionally share stories about past experiences and recount exciting mining adventures that spark the imaginations of visitors.
Those who dare to take a detour to the Coal Station Scheiben will be rewarded with a very special time travel experience!
