Polizei- und Militärmuseum Lohnsburg
4923 Lohnsburg am Kobernaußerwald
The Police and Military Museum offers a deep insight into the world of law enforcement officers and the era in which they lived. The curator, Andreas Weissenböck, is deeply passionate about exhibits related to the Austrian law enforcement and military.
The collection includes both historical artifacts and contemporary items from the Austrian law enforcement agencies and the Austrian Armed Forces. Among the items on display are service weapons, uniforms, identification cards, documents, folders, and equipment. Uniforms and helmets from the Austrian Armed Forces of the Second Republic are also on display.
Medals and uniforms of the German Wehrmacht from World War II are also eye-catching. Among them is a very special exhibit: the original gray service cap for German ambassadors, belonging to Joachim von Ribbentrop. However, the majority of the collection consists of exhibits from the law enforcement agencies of the Austrian government. These include, for example, the Prison Guard, the Federal Gendarmerie, and the Federal Police, spanning from World War I to the present day.
