The F. X. Gruber Community is a motivated group that, as a tribute to its famous community citizen, would like to carry on the love that is expressed in the song "Silent Night" - "As a small thank you!" - would like to carry on.

Franz Xaver Gruber, the composer of the song "Silent Night", was born on 25 November 1787 as the son of the poor linen weavers Josef and Anna Gruber on the Steinpointsölde in Unterweitzberg, Hochburg parish.

After the first performance of the song "Silent Night" on 24 December 1818 in Oberndorf, it spread across Europe at lightning speed and was sung by the Rainer Singers in New York as early as 1839.

"Silent Night, Holy Night" - this song could have been a Christmas carol like a thousand others... But it is not! Anyone who has heard this song once will be mesmerised by it.
It is a simple melody, but you can feel the special inspiration in every note. It is more! - Words and notes are combined to create a unique composition that touches people's hearts.

Maybe that's why this song is sung all over the world?
Find out for yourself. We would like to invite you to join us on our journey in search of Silent Night.
