The Gleinkersee is a special insider tip among fishermen. Since 2017, the Gleinkersee has been dominated by fly fishing. Only two fishing licenses are sold per day (including rowing boat).

The Gleinkersee (approx. 15 ha) is a wonderfully situated pre-alpine lake close to Windischgarsten and is home to large pike, roach, aitel and carp. Fly fishing is possible from 1 June to 31 December. Fishing licences at: www.hejfish.com

A valid fishing card (photo ID) is required for fishing in Upper Austria. Official fishing cards from other federal provinces or states are recognised. Every angler must be in possession of a licence book, which is newly issued for each calendar year.

Fishing in Upper Austria is to be carried out in accordance with the provisions of provincial law; changes or possible restrictions are reserved for the managers of the individual waters.
