Skywalk "World Heritage View" viewing platform
4830 Hallstatt

Description: From 3 December 2024, the footpath into the Hallstatt high valley will be closed until the opening of the Salzberg cable car in 2026.
Safe access is already no longer possible due to weather conditions.
The platform floats almost freely at a height of 360 meters and offers a unique view of the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hallstatt and the Dachstein Salzkammergut hiking region. A top excursion destination that offers deep insights into history and magnificent views over Hallstatt.
A viewing platform 360 meters above Hallstatt
The pointed steel construction is located directly below the Rudolfsturm and rises 12 meters into the abyss. Anyone who ventures out there will be rewarded with a unique view of Hallstatt and the World Heritage region. Thanks to the Salzbergbahn cable car, lift and panoramic bridge, the platform is easily accessible and therefore also an interesting excursion destination for families and senior citizens. The construction has a total weight of approx. 200 tons. 60 m³ of concrete serve as a counterweight to enable the platform to "float" completely safely and freely.
The Hallstatt high valley - a walk through the millennia
The archaeological finds from the salt mine and almost a thousand open graves in the Hallstatt High Valley are so unique that an entire epoch (800 - 400 BC) is now known worldwide as the "Hallstatt period" . Audio guides in 13 languages are available for the tour. From the new viewing platform "Welterbeblick" you can enjoy the sensational panoramic view, and you should definitely plan some time for a rest on the wonderful viewing terrace of the mountain restaurant "Rudolfsturm".
