A few metres away from the Arbeitswelt Museum, the exhibition shows the destructive interplay between the national socialist invasion policy, arms industry, forced labour and systematic destruction of human lives.

With the guest card "In Summe mehr " you get a reduced entrance fee of € 5,-.

The 140 m long Lamberg Tunnel incorporated into a former air raid shelter near the confluence of the Enns and Steyr Rivers is now known as the “Tunnel of Remembrance”. It was originally built by concentration camp inmates during the winter of 1943 and is now used for exhibits on Steyr’s history during the time of national socialist rule.
The path through the horseshoe-shaped site follows chronologically arranged exhibits highlighting the years 1938 to 1945.  The exhibition approaches the topic via biographies and displays personal descriptions, historical photos as well as written documents. Another important theme of the exhibition is the history of resistance in and around Steyr and how the town has come to terms with its NS past in the years after 1945 up to the present day.

Opening hours

The key card, helmets and the information sheet with notes are prepared after pre-registration at the office of the Museum Arbeitswelt and can be collected and returned at the Infopoint from MON to THU 8:00 to 16:00 and FRI 8:00 to 12:00.
