Gipfelkreuz am Haiderberg
St. Leonhard bei Freistadt, Oberösterreich, Österreich
- pets allowed
The summit cross on the Haiderberg, the highest point in the municipality of St. Leonhard at 907 metres, is a prominent point on the much-travelled Johannesweg trail on the Mühlviertler Alm.
From this special place, you also have a fantastic view over the lower Mühlviertel as far as the Alps. The summit cross was created as part of the "Do something, then do something" campaign in collaboration between St. Leonhard NMS and the Voestalpine training workshop. In addition, the opportunity was created for hikers to take pebbles deposited at the "Bründl" in St. Leonhard and leave them at the summit cross as a lasting souvenir.
