BIKE TRIAL SALZKAMMERGUT

‘When trying to explain our sport, we often hear: ‘How can you stop on your bike without getting off? You'll fall over ...’ or “How are you supposed to get up a man-sized rock on your bike?”. The answer is very simple: practise, practise and practise some more! This is exactly what the sport of ‘bike trial’ specialises in,’ says OBMANN Grill Dominic.

About the club

Bike Trial Salzkammergut (BTS for short) was founded by a few mountain bikers in 2011 to perfect their riding technique on special ‘trial bikes’. The club has grown considerably over the years. There are currently more than 30 active members, from beginners to World Cup riders. Youth development has always been particularly important, and the best have made it to the World Youth Games.

However, bikers of all ages are of course very welcome. If you are interested, you can take part in a free taster session including bike hire.

Our training centre (Bike Balance Gmunden) is located at the Gmunden sports hall right next to the football pitch and the ice rink.

The opening hours are 24/7 and the area is freely accessible at all times. We ask that you use the trial bike park sensibly and leave it as you found it. Please throw any rubbish or other waste in the designated rubbish bins!

Training ground with many obstacles

‘We ride and train several times a week on our training ground in Gmunden. On over 2000 m² there are various obstacles such as stones, tree trunks and lorry tyres, but our hut is also used. We cover all levels of difficulty.’
