The Mollner Amateurtheater frei-wild brings socially topical themes to the stage - often against the background of concrete, regional or historical events such as the eponymous Mollner Poacher Battle of 1919.

In 2007 Josef 'Joschi' Illecker had the idea to make something out of the dramatic history of the "Mollner Wildererschlacht" - a theatre, for example! The idea took shape and Franz Horcicka from Kirchdorf worked out a dramatic version of the story.
In 2008 - with the principle of performing the story about "Poaching, Murder and Resurrection - Molln anno 1919/2009/2099" - the supporting association was founded. The aim was to make the open-air performance a tradition for Molln and the region. narbeit.

On 26 June 2009 the premiere of "frei-wild" finally took place as an open-air performance in front of the living monument Hoisn Haus - a great success, the audience and the media were surprised, impressed and enthusiastic. A total of 3400 visitors - an unprecedented reception for a regional theatre event!
Many more plays will follow, including
- "The Robinson Women", in the Marlen Haushofer commemorative year 2010
- "The Blue Wonder
- "The Uprising
- "Jennerwein"
- The Game of the Helnbrecht Moar
- The farce "Paying is not an option" and many more.
- Summer fun plays such as "Der Krah", or "Ich versteh nur Bahnhof".

In addition, readings, guest performances by international artists, as well as symposia on courageous habitat defenders in the National Park region have been and will be organised. For kids, theatre workshops on the topic of nature conservation are held with "mini-wildheut".
