Under the motto "LIME EXPERIENCE", the museum was given its purpose in the course of the decentralized state exhibition in 1998 "LAND of the hammers - Heimat Eisenwurzen". Rural lime burning, a now forgotten craft, is presented in the lime kiln in Steinbach am Ziehberg, which was built in 1926 and renovated in 1998. You learn interesting facts about the chemistry of lime, the work in the quarry, the burning process in the most varied of ovens and the dangerous transport of lime.
