Orter Bucht
Gmunden, Oberösterreich, Österreich
- Suitable for groups
Even in the cities of Upper Austria, small natural jewels sometimes sparkle. One example of this is the Orter Bucht, a stretch of unspoilt Traunsee shoreline in Gmunden not far from the famous ensemble of the lake and Ort Castle.
A short distance from the centre of Gmunden, walkers will find an extraordinary piece of nature in the Orter Bucht nature reserve. Reed forests grow directly on the lakeshore. This is adjoined by a wet meadow area in the shore zone. Willows grow here occasionally. There are always wet areas in the meadows and sometimes even small pools of water.
