Under the name "Kleines feines von der Wachtel" we offer a variety of delicacies made from 100% quail eggs.
Our family business is located in the beautiful Mühlviertel at 800m above sea level in the village of Traberg.
At our organic farm, we cultivate approx. 60 hectares of grassland and keep 35 suckler cattle of the breeds Fleckvieh and Charolais with their young in the playpen and on the pasture. In addition to the crossbreeding of the two breeds for meat production, we also have a small herd of purebred Charolais.
We have been a recognized organic farm since 2015.
This is us
The joy of working in nature, the way we treat animals and the fact that no two days are the same, ultimately led me to take over the aging of my parents' farm. For me and my wife it was immediately clear that we would like to offer our animals the best possible and that we would like to cultivate the meadows according to the biological idea. After my agricultural skilled worker examination, the switch to organic farming, long planning and tinkering, we finally tackled the suckler cowshed project. Since 2015, numerous cows and their calves have been frolicking in our new barn. I am proud to optimize, work and do business every day and I enjoy it a lot. Despite all the work, there is still time for our two children and that is very important to me.
Although I didn't grow up on any farm, I have fulfilled a dream with our organic farm. I particularly enjoy caring for the animals and so it turned out that this has also become my area of responsibility. I appreciate the opportunity to realize myself and to be creative. We owe our small breeding to my enthusiasm for the large, white Charolais cattle. With a lot of heart I accompany every single animal from birth to slaughter, and I know that our cattle always have a good life, which is very important for us. I attach particular importance to daily contact with our animals, each has its own name and I always take the time to scratch my back for a minute or two.
