Adalbert Stifter, was one of Austria's most important writers and spent many years in this villa in Kirchschlag. 

The listed Stifter Villa - also known as the Metz Villa - was acquired and renovated by the municipality of Kirchschlag in 2004. Since 2018, it has served as a multifunctional centre. Concerts, readings, weddings, exhibitions, birthday parties and other events take place here on an ongoing basis.
