Unterweißenbach Sports Field

The Unterweißenbach Sports Union is a modern and versatile club with a total of five sections. In addition to soccer, the Union’s wide range of sports now also includes cycling, fitness, tennis, and curling.

In addition, the Union plays an important role in the social life of Unterweißenbach and regularly organizes a wide variety of sporting and social events. With the construction of the new Union building, the “Sparkassen Arena,” which opened in 2023, another important step toward the future was taken, and the club’s infrastructure was developed for the long term.
The soccer division includes our first team, reserve team, and numerous youth teams—ranging from the Bambinis all the way up to the U16s. There is also a joint youth program with Union Königswiesen, known as “SPG Mühlviertler Alm.”
The tennis division organizes internal tournaments, club championships, mixed doubles, and women’s and men’s doubles. And there’s always plenty of fun to be had! The tennis facility features three courts, where many successful games and sets are played. A team competes in the Freiwald Cup, where our players can compete against other communities in the region. Various tennis courses are offered for children and adults of all ages.
The Fitness Section has been in existence since 2019, making it an integral part of the Union Unterweißenbach. The goal of this section is to provide exercise programs for all sports-loving men and women of all ages, as well as children. All of this can be easily accommodated in the gymnastics room.
The curling section, on the other hand, has been around since 1962. Here, the focus is on camaraderie rather than just athletic success. Nevertheless, members enjoy competing against other “teams” in friendly tournaments. All curling enthusiasts gather at the curling rink every Thursday and Sunday.
In 2023/2024, the cycling section was newly founded. This new section is a perfect addition to the Unterweißenbach Union and offers a great opportunity to strengthen the cycling community in the region. The men meet on Mondays at the sports field, and the women meet on Wednesdays at the Galgenbühel playground for group rides.
