Rural Youth Zell am Moos
At the very beginning, the former pastor of Zell am Moos, Friedrich Penetsdorfer, actually wanted a Catholic youth group for the community. But in a vote, the majority was in favor of a rural youth group. So on April 18, 1973, 20 girls and 23 boys gathered at the Seewirt inn in Zell am Moos to found the "Zell am Moos" rural youth group. Among them were also the two founding members Fritz Spielberger and Maria Engel, who were elected as chief leaders in the board election. The honorary guests present there welcomed the youth's activity in the community in their speeches and promised their support.
Over the years, more and more members from outside the founding community, especially from the neighboring community of Tiefgraben, joined us. Therefore, in the spring of 2004, we decided to change our name to "Landjugend Zell am Moos - Tiefgraben".
Since then, a lot has happened, but we still pursue the same basic idea:
We want to initiate projects together with other young adults that support people and the environment, especially in our region but also internationally. We want to revive and continue to pass on customs and traditions in our area. But above all, we want to have fun and experience beautiful things together.
At present, we have 72 members, including 32 girls and 40 boys. Our chief leaders Stephanie Achleitner and Kris Steinbichler lead the rural youth group with a 12-member board team. We are particularly pleased that young people keep joining us with new ideas, commitment, and motivation to shake up and drive our rural youth group forward, because:
"Together we are strong!"
