The approximately 8 km long "Eggelsberger Gletscherrandweg" leads visitors through a landscape created by the ice-age Salzach glacier. The "footprint" of the glacier is omnipresent. This is evidenced by terminal moraines that trace the former edge of the glacier, as well as ice edge terraces from the time of melting
A characteristic phenomenon of Eggelsberg's ice-cracked landscape are the dead ice holes, which are now filled with water and form bog lakes and small ponds. This diverse treasure trove of forms is only a good 20,000 years old! Again and again you come across erratic boulders that were transported and deposited here over 150 kilometres from the Hohe Tauern in the glacial ice. These are grouped together in a small erratic boulder park. And then there are the marvellous panoramic views! Nothing should be anticipated here - just let yourself be surprised. The "Eggelsberger Gletscherrandweg" invites you to hike, walk, run, relax and explore. There are seating areas at the most beautiful spots ... to simply sit back and relax with your "soul".

Start:
Eggelsberg car park new middle school/near the church - via Renzlbergstraße uphill to Pippmannsberg - through 2 wooded areas back to Eggelsberg - past the RAIBA - - cross the B156 - continue along the vineyard hill - Trametshausen - Bergstetten - Autmannsdorf - and back to Eggelsberg to the starting point.
