A green signpost on the eastern edge of Ibm labelled "Saaggraben" points the way to a romantic forest gorge, which... ...at the bottom of which the Saaggrabenbach stream flows with a gentle murmur towards the Leitensee lake.
Over thousands of years, the modest little stream has dug this deep gorge and even today it tirelessly transports sand and gravel into the Leitensee, where it has already built up a considerable sandbank that reaches deep into the lake below the lake level.
For those seeking relaxation, the Saaggraben is an ideal hiking destination in the hot summer months.

The trail starts at the last house before the forest (Haus Maximillian). The steep slopes of the gorge are mainly covered in beech trees. The narrow valley floor is planted with spruce trees. The trees provide shade on hot days. The little stream tempts you to take a cool dip. After a 20-minute walk, you reach the end of the forest. The hiking trail forks here.
The path on the right initially leads uphill over a bridge. On the hill, the path runs alongside the forest for a while. We soon come across the first houses in Wannersdorf. In the village itself, the signposts point us to the left. The narrow road leads us southwards through a forest. After crossing it, we reach the Seeleiten viewpoint, which offers a magnificent panoramic view over the Leitensee lake, the Ibmer Moor and the Salzburg & Bavarian Limestone Alps.
From the viewing plateau, you can enjoy a marvellous view of the oldest nature reserve in Upper Austria, the Pfeifferanger. This is a special "power place".
Now we hike along a species-rich hedge into a natural copper beech forest. After a short stretch, we come across fen and litter meadows with many rare and protected plants.

Once you reach the starting point, it is worth visiting the Ibmer Kirchlein church.
Parking is available in the centre of Ibm, near Haus Ibm 4.
