The hiking trail leads along the Wegerer settlement to "Kleinkaining", via the Krenederhaus into the valley of the Schönaubach stream and through it back to the village. The gorge-like narrowing of the valley is also known as the Kanaltal because the Schönau sewer was laid here, leading through the valley of the Kleine Naarn to the sewage treatment plant at the Steinbruckmühle. Before you reach the goods road, you pass the former light house. A small power station with a 7 hp generator was in operation here from 1921 until the mid-1930s. Below the Hofstattmühle you can still see the remains of the former reservoir, which also served as a bathing facility.
