Hiking trail

Via the Pfarrgraben to Vorwald to the herb garden. Turn left at Grünauer, walk a short distance along the "7er" and the herb hiking trail to the "Aussichtsplatz", then turn right along Mitterweg to Hirschbacher Au and the source of the Gusen. This is the source of the Kleine Gusen, which flows into the Große Gusen after approx. 30 km at Breitenbruck/Bodendorf in the municipality of Katsdorf.

From there, continue to Keplinger in Tischberg (= a small farm), then immediately turn right along a meadow path through a small wood to Oberhirschgraben. Before the "Koasahof", turn left down the hairpin bend and follow the old Gusenweg to Hirschbach-Ort.

Arrival by car:
From Linz via the A7 (Mühlkreis motorway) towards Prague/Freistadt as far as Unterweitersdorf, then turn left after the end of the motorway (towards Prague/Freistadt) and continue on the B125 to Freistadt. In Freistadt turn left towards Bad Leonfelden (B38). After approx. 1 km, turn left again towards Hirschbach.

Travelling by train:
Take the train from Linz main station, change there to the Linz-Summerau line, get off at Trölsberg (train station near Freistadt).
