"Off to the south"
is the motto of the Gusental hiking trail, which leads through a scenic delicacy, the Gusental valley.After crossing a small stream at the Stroblmühle mill, hikers follow in the footsteps of the horse-drawn railway, which was the most important means of transport between Budweis and Linz in the 19th century. The track gauge of the railway was 1,106 millimetres. When the railway was in full operation, six goods trains and one passenger train travelled daily, with one goods train consisting of 30 carriages.

On the A1 motorway to Linz, from there continue on the A7 (Mühlkreisautobahn) to Unterweitersdorf. From there, take the S10 to Neumarkt.
