Moderate difficulty cross country skiing trail for diagonal and skating
The moderately difficult Roosmoos round is sign-posted in blue and starts by the upper car park at the Predigstuhl hotel.
The route is suitable for experienced skaters with a high level of fitness, but easy for diagonal cross country skiers.
There is a relatively steep section through the woods at the start of the trail, followed by some flat sections.
Then you will arrive at the first little mountain hut. Now there follows a gradual ascent past the first four huts on the Rossmoosalm.
From here there are breath-taking views towards „König Dachstein“ and the Krippenstein.
Now the trail crosses the summer hiking trail to Hütteneck, where you will reach a small summit.
Here you can enjoy views towards the Sarstein, the Raschberg and the Zwerchwand.
Following a short descent you will reach the beautiful „Obermoos“ area.
To your left you will be able to see the local mountain of Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt Predigstuhl.
After the next short ascent you will reach the highest hut on the Rossmoosalm.
Continue past the „Jela-Hütte“, and after a 500 m long, easy and clearly visible downhill section you will reach a crossroad.
To your right is a display board showing all the cross country ski trails at Höhenloipe. Continue 1.5 km back to the start of the trail.
About half way there are two benches, where in the spring time, you can sit and relax.
There is an information board as well as stunning views across the entire .World Heritage region
