Hike to a little known summit above the Hoisenrad
Walking time: 1 hour 40 minuntes ascent - descent 1 hour 15 minutesDifference in altitude: 520 m ascent, descent 520 m
Requirements: Easy hike with some wet – slippery passages in the final climb to the Kolowratshöhe
From the car park walk back along the road 500 m to
the inn "Zum Salzberg". Here is a traffic island with the signpost "Hoisenrad" (47 ° 41'21 "N
- 013 ° 38'44 "E - 586 m). Turn right and walk along the stream always initially on a road straight through the village. After the last house the path rises through the woods. After about 30 minutes walk the trail goes to the left through the meadow of Niederrad (note the markings). Soon, a barrier prevents going further in the forest. Leave the field and go to the left Emperor Jubilee (47 ° 41'42 "N - 013 ° 39'38 " E - 836m). Soon the trail reaches a forest track, turn left. After another good 15 minutes go right, up through the forest, to arrive at a meadow on the cultivated Hoisenrad
(47 ° 41'28 "N - 013 ° 39'42 " E - 969 m) From the pasture climb briefly to forest track opposite. At the track keep sharp right after approximately 50 m, after a left hand curve, go left.
From here it is a good 20 minute walk to the Kolowratshöhe - this can be slippery and wet.
On the descent return to the forest track and follow this for 15 minutes past the Gschwendtalm
to an intersection (47 ° 40'58 "N - 013 ° 39'55 " E - 968 m). Take the steep right
path leading down (poor condition) and reach the forest track again after 10 minutes. On this, walk 300m (not yet right down!) to the left. At the crossroads with the sign (47 ° 40'47 "N - 013 ° 39'38 " E - 872 m) "Perneck30 min" turn on a track to the right. The track is steep in parts and follows the stream to the mountain houses at Salzberg and back to the car park at the starting point.
Starting point: Parking at the salt mine in Perneck (47 ° 41'05 "N - 013 ° 38'50 " E - 620 m). Directions: From the centre south into Grazerstraße After house number 49, at a crossroads turn left at the second road (Perneckerstraße) Follow this to its end.
